The isolation unit is necessarily situated remotely in one of the fields and to complete its construction we needed to have some electrical power strong enough to work a welder to weld gate hinges to the iron structure. Some of the refurbishments and constructions receive funding however to enable the funds to achieve the purpose the Trustees, Tony & Martyn carry out much of the work themselves. This final piece of welding would have entailed just a couple of hours use of a welder/generator over a weekend. We approached all the main plant hire companies locally asking if they would donate the welder for a couple of hours to the Charity. None would do so and so we asked over the airwaves courtesy of our friends at Arrow FM and Sovereign Radio.
A wonderful, generous person answered our appeal. He was Martin Harrison of “Iron-Art” in Eastbourne. He came over one day with his mobile van that contains all the necessary equipment and drove down to the isolation unit and did the welding all free to the Charity. As a Charity we give our 100% support in any way we are able to any individual or company that helps us. Martin comes highly recommended by us, not only for doing an excellent job but also for his efficiency, generosity and diversity of skills.
